So entstehen ganz neue Formate, die das Erlebnis des einzelnen Zuschauers in den Vordergrund stellen. In der Vergangenheit setzten die Arbeiten des Künstlerduos häufig Theater in Dialog mit Bildender Kunst, so entstand in der räumlichen Verbindung ein Spiel zwischen Szenografie und Architektur. Die neue Installation BOOK IS A BOOK IS A BOOK erweitert diese Ebene und bezieht sich auf die Welt von Text, Grafik und Literatur, um den Gegenstand des Buches als Ausdrucksmittel zu erkunden. Das Buch, eigens für die neue Produktion gestaltet und gedruckt, stellt selbst einen physischen Raum dar, den das Publikum einzeln, mithilfe eines Kopfhörers, erkunden kann: den Buchraum. Im Laufe der Jahre hat Trickster-p eine sehr eigene künstlerische Handschrift entwickelt, die auch international Beachtung findet und für deren innovativen Ansatz die beiden Künstler 2017 den Schweizer Theaterpreis erhielten. A fascinating and mysterious object, the book is almost magical in its nature: an apparently simple set of sheets sewn together in the shape of a volume, it has the property of opening windows onto other worlds, transforming into a capsule that allows one to travel through time and space. This observation, both linear and complex, was the starting point for the development of Book is a Book is a Book. In the performance devised by Cristina Galbiati and Ilija Luginbühl, the spectator moves through the pages along a path leading on an actual journey made of images, words, sounds. As a result, the book – or rather, THE previously unreleased book, created specifically for Book is a Book is a Book– is a place where one travels in the mind and with the mind. It is an object that creates connections between time, space, dream and memory, an experience that allows one to be projected elsewhere and to expand the perceptual sphere.
